idCAT digital certificate: Revocation

The revocation of the idCAT means the cancellation of the certificate for all purposes permanently, until it is requested again.

What is this procedure?

The IdCAT is a digital identifier issued by the Catalan Certification Agency, CATCert, which, through an electronic signature, allows you to sign and encrypt emails, sign web forms and electronic documents and carry out different procedures in the State Administration, Generalitat de Catalunya, Local Administration, Provincial Council, Banks, etc.

The Ajuntament del Prat is a Collaborating Registration Entity, and is responsible for verifying the citizen's identity to carry out procedures for the idCAT certificate

The revocation is final. To have an idCAT certificate again, you will need to make a new request.

NIF, NIE or passport

In the event that only the passport is provided, the use of the idCAT certificate that will be delivered will be limited and will only allow for private procedures, such as signing and encrypting emails, signing web forms, etc.
