What is this procedure?

Removal from the pet census of Ajuntament del Prat of a previously registered animal for the reasons of:
  • Transfer of the animal to another municipality permanently or for a period exceeding 3 months
  • Change of owner
  • Loss and/or theft
  • Death

In the event of death, transfer or change of residence of the animal, the municipal census must be notified within a maximum period of one month from the date of occurrence.

The theft or loss of a pet must be reported to the municipal census within a maximum period of one week from the date of becoming aware of the facts that have occurred. In the case of a dog considered potentially dangerous, this period is reduced to 48 hours.

People who own and/or possess pets.

What documentation must be submitted?

You must provide any document proving the change of municipality, owner, loss, theft and/or death.
