- It must be remembered that a vehicle cannot be parked on a public road without having mandatory insurance in force.
- If the vehicle exceeds 1,200 kg. of tare weight and/or the owner of the vehicle is a legal entity, or there is an urgency in processing the deregistration at the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), the vehicles can be delivered in person to any Authorized Treatment Center. At the time of delivery, the owner receives a copy of the certificate of destruction, which is the document for the Provincial Traffic Prefecture to deregister it.
- Motorcycles and mopeds can be deregistered directly at the DGT without the need to hand them over to any centre. When deregistering a motorcycle or moped, the owner must undertake to hand it over to an Authorised Treatment Centre for destruction. This centre will issue an environmental certificate.
- In the event of abandonment of the motorcycle or moped on a public road, it will be reported for this reason and the fees for stay and removal from the vehicle depot will subsequently be claimed.
