TRR - Municipal waste collection rate generated in private homes

The taxable event of this tax is the collection, transport and management, by municipal services, of residential waste generated in private homes.

In the case of homes that have a water supply, the fee will be charged bimonthly on the water bill. Each bill will reflect one-sixth (1/6) of the annual fee and the discounts corresponding to the two months prior to the month in which the bill was issued.

The most common procedures are the following:

Registrations and changes of ownership
The fee is automatically added to the water bill when you contract for water supply. The first service bill will include 1/6 of the fee.

In the event of a change in the water supply owner, the fee will be subrogated in the same way as the rest of the items on the water bill and will be charged to the new water supply owner.

Both the registration and the name change of the fee associated with the water bill will be associated with the registration and name change of the water supply and will be carried out by Aigües del Prat at the time of the registration and name change of the water supply.

Water supply cut-off
In the event of termination of the water supply service, the person liable for payment will no longer be the owner of the supply and, in this case, will be replaced by the owner of the home.

Fee and reductions
The annual fee is due on January 1 of each year and is established based on the m3 of water invoiced during the 12 months prior to September 30th prior to the year in which the fee is due. The fee will be paid in bimonthly installments with the water bill.

The following reductions are established on the fee to be paid:
     - 40 percent whenever the selective collection service for the organic fraction (FORM) is used 7 times or more on different days during the two months prior to the month preceding the date on which the water bill is issued.
     - A reduction of €1 to those taxpayers who use the waste disposal services once or more during the two months prior to the month preceding the date on which the water bill is issued.

In 2024, the average consumption of households in El Prat de Llobregat was 86.4 m3, which represents a monthly consumption of 7.2 m3.

The tax fee is annual and its amount will be determined based on the size of the household, approximated by the water consumption of the home and in accordance with the following table:
