What is this procedure?

The Cadastral Information Points (PIC) They are offices authorized by the General Directorate of Cadastre in different Public Organizations and Institutions, mainly in City Councils, where citizens can access cadastral information.

Its services provided are:

  • Free consultation and electronic certification of unprotected cadastral data and digital cartography.
  • Electronic consultation and certification for cadastral holders of protected data, relating to the real estate they own.
  • Negative certification of real estate or of the circumstance of not being listed as a cadastral owner, relating to the applicant himself. 
  • Electronic notification of cadastral files, provided that it is presented with the access code that has been previously provided to you.

These consultations can be made in relation to the entire Spanish territory, except for assets located in the Basque Country and Navarre. 

Whenever the information is not protected, any interested natural or legal person may request it. In the case of consultation of protected data, only the cadastral holders, their representatives or a person duly authorized in writing may request it. Protected data are: the name, surname, company name, identification code and address of the person registered in the cadastre as the owner, as well as the cadastral value of the properties.

Who can apply for it?

Any natural or legal person as interested for non-protected information and only the owners, their representative or a person duly authorized in writing in the case of protected data.

What documentation must be submitted?

In the case of in-person processing:

  • Certification application. This consists of a standardized form that is provided and filled out at the same time as the request is made.
  • If you are the holder of the certificate: original NIF, NIE or Passport.
  • If you are not the holder of the certificate: written authorization and NIF of the authorized person and the person authorizing.
  • In the case of legal entities: NIF of the legal representative and documentation proving the representation or accreditation with which the action is taken.

In the case of electronic processing through the Cadastre website:

  • For protected data, access with digital certification.
  • For unprotected data, free access.
