Department of Community Action, Welfare and Coexistence

Promote emotional well-being, diverse interpersonal relationships and coexistence among all citizens, deploying different programs, projects and community actions. And guarantee the functioning of 7 personal and or group care services: Information Service for the Elderly, Office for Care for Entities, Volunteer Point, Intercultural Mediation Service and First Reception for People from Other Countries, Good Neighborhood Service, Activa't Service and Municipal Gardens.

The general objectives of the department are: 

• Promote community actions to raise awareness and promote human rights by implementing equality and feminism policies, fighting against gender stereotypes and sexist violence.
• Supporting the connection between people and the city and promoting an environment of social relations through the municipal garden project as natural spaces and vegetable growing environments.
• Guarantee actions, spaces and care services for community mental health and emotional and relational well-being based on a transversal strategy.
• Strengthen community relationships in group spaces by linking them to actions organized by entities or by other departments or administrations.
• Take care of people linked to the entities by organizing an annual exhibition to promote the involvement of more citizens through the information and guidance service of the new Entity Service Office.
• Inform citizens about social volunteering projects and link them to the service offered by the Volunteer Point.
• Promote education in values ​​of peace, respect for diversity, international cooperation and education for global justice with socio-educational actions.
• Guarantee services and actions of mediation and restorative culture.
• Guaranteeing good coexistence and intervention services in public environments to promote civic awareness and care for the environment. And supporting coexistence in neighborhood communities with the Good Neighborhood Service.
• Detect and prevent risky behaviors at all ages, as well as detect and prevent attitudes of intolerance and xenophobia.
• Take care of the well-being of the elderly and encourage their participation in cultural and active leisure activities.
• Taking care of the accessibility, participation and active life of people with functional diversity.
• Guarantee reception spaces for all recently registered people and promote that they learn about the city's services and participate in organizations and/or group projects, as well as that they learn about the language and culture of Pratense.
• Promote education in values ​​for equality and fairness, and the deployment of feminist policies to reduce and eradicate all types of violence.
